If your gear is past its useful life, there are several methods available to dispose of it responsibly. Depending on the condition, useful life can be restored through repairs - whether it be soft goods or hard goods. If we deem your gear repairable, it may still be acceptable for donation, or we can connect you with one of our outdoor gear repair partners.

Many communities offer recycling programs for outdoor gear, and certain components can often be repurposed for DIY projects. Most quality outdoor products are designed to be durable goods, meaning the entire product, or components of the product, are designed to be repaired. So before you simply throw it away, consider reaching out to the manufacturer for advice. Many manufacturers, such as Patagonia, have extensive guides online showing how to fix their products.
