Once you list equipment for rent, you'll begin to get texts from us inviting your to lend your gear. Below we discuss how we contact lenders and what you can do to increase your chances of being contacted more frequently.

How We Prioritize Lenders To Contact

GeerGarage prioritizes lenders based on a variety of factors, such as location, equipment availability, and historical lending patterns. It is important to understand that we reach out to multiple lenders for each rental request to ensure that we are able to fulfill our orders as quickly as possible with the best gear that meets our renter's needs. The first lender to accept our invitation to lend will get matched with the renter.

Understanding Your Obligations as a Lender

We understand that lending gear is a personal decision and that lenders may not always be available or interested in every rental request. As a lender, you should not feel obligated to lend every time you receive a request from us. Opt-in or out of each rental as your schedule allows.

Tips for Increasing Your Odds of Being Contacted

There are steps you can take to increase your chances of being contacted for rentals. These include:

  1. Having a complete profile: Make sure your profile is complete and up-to-date, and includes a profile picture, a good bio, and a current address on file.

  2. Listing as many pieces of equipment as possible: This will increase your visibility and make it more likely that you'll be able to fulfill all the items in a renter's request. Renters typically rent multiple items and we prioritize lenders who can fulfill the entire order first.

  3. Providing detailed information about your gear: Be sure to enter in all the details about your equipment, including make, model, size, and any special features or accessories.

  4. Responding quickly to rental requests: We appreciate timely responses and are more likely to choose lenders who get back to us quickly and are easy to work with. Even if you aren't able to lend for a given rental, let us know by rejecting the request.

  5. Lending your gear more frequently: Lenders who have a history of successful rentals and positive feedback from renters are more likely to be contacted for future rentals.

By following these tips, you'll increase the likelihood that you'll get contacted for more rentals. Thank you for being a part of our community and helping renters explore the great outdoors!
